Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we handle your personal information, including the sensitive information in your resume. We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and apply equivalent protections for users in the UK, EU and US.
1. Who we are
CrackMyJob.ai (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by First Point Technology Pty Ltd (ABN 99 665 267 498), based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. For any privacy question, contact privacy@crackmyjob.ai.
2. Information we collect
- Resume and profile content — the resume you upload or the profile you build, including your name, contact details, work history, education and skills. Some of this may be sensitive information, which we handle with extra care and only with your consent (provided when you submit it).
- Job details — the job description or job URL you provide.
- Account information — your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, basic profile details from Google.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card number.
- Usage and technical data — IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, and actions such as acknowledgements you make, for security, audit and to improve the service.
- Cookies — see “Cookies” below.
3. How we use your information
- To generate your interview score and job pack documents.
- To create and manage your account and saved documents.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To keep records of legal acknowledgements you make (for compliance and audit).
- To secure, maintain and improve the service, and to respond to your enquiries.
- To send you service-related communications and, only with your consent, marketing (you can opt out at any time).
4. AI processing and automated decisions
We use third-party AI (Anthropic’s Claude) to generate your score and documents. Your resume and job details are sent to this provider solely to produce your results. The interview probability score is an AI-estimated indicator, not a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and it is not a guarantee of any interview or job outcome. You can always contact us to ask how a result was produced or to request a human review.
5. We do not train AI on your data
Your resume and personal data are not used to train AI models, ours or our providers’. They are processed only to deliver your results.
6. Service providers (sub-processors)
We share personal information with trusted providers only as needed to run the service:
- Anthropic — AI generation of your score and documents.
- Supabase — authentication, database and storage of your account and saved documents.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Vercel — application hosting.
These providers may process data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information consistently with this policy and applicable law.
7. International users (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)
If you are in the UK or EU, our legal bases for processing are: performance of our contract with you (to provide the service), your consent (for sensitive data and marketing), and our legitimate interests (security and improvement). You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to processing. If you are a California resident, you may request access to or deletion of your personal information and are entitled to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information.
8. Data retention and account deletion
We keep your account, saved documents and profile while your account is active. You can delete individual saved documents at any time, or delete your whole account from your account settings.
When you delete your account, we apply a two-tier retention approach:
- Your personal content — resume text, generated job packs, job-match results, profile details and mock-interview transcripts — is hidden immediately and held in a recoverable state for a 90-day restore window. If you sign back in during this period you can restore everything. After the 90 days, this content is permanently deleted from our active systems (residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten on our normal backup cycle).
- Compliance and consent records — a minimised audit record of your acceptance of our Terms, Privacy Policy and disclaimers, and of key actions such as account deletion (recording date, version, account identifier and basic technical data, but not your resume content) — is retained for up to 7 years. We keep these to comply with our legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, consistent with the limitation period for such claims in Queensland, Australia. They are then deleted.
Webcam frames used during an AI mock interview are analysed in real time and are not stored — we keep only the written feedback and score. Payment and tax records, where applicable, are retained for the period required by Australian law (generally 5–7 years).
You may ask us to delete your data sooner, and we will do so except where we are legally required or permitted to retain the minimised compliance records described above.
9. Your rights and choices
- Access, correct or delete your personal information.
- Download or delete your saved documents from your account.
- Withdraw consent or opt out of marketing.
- Ask a question or make a complaint about how we handle your data.
To exercise any right, contact privacy@crackmyjob.ai. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), or your local data-protection authority.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the site, and may use analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect functionality.
12. Children
The service is not directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the “Effective” date. Material changes will be notified where required.
